In Her Own Words...

This is a selection from a journal kept by Jill for one of her classes, and is dated August 4, 2006.

March Of Dimes

This particular task was my favorite. The ducks that we had to were so adorable with their little chef outfits. It was fun selling the ducks because not only was it for a good cause, but also it was actually fun meeting new people. I did not find it hard to believe that we actually won this task. We were so into it. it was hard not to be motivated. Our dorm was pretty confident.

I think my team really bonded and our heads really came together. We had good strategies and used all of our ideas. Our advantage was that we started the day that we got the ducks. We did not waste any time with distributing the rubber ducks to different stores. We covered them all before the other teams could get to them first.

We sold ducks everyday and succeeded. It is a really great feeling to win at something that benefits someone else. This is one task that I actually enjoyed doing. I love doing community service, especially if it is helping children. I want to be a teacher when I graduate. Anything that involves children, I am motivated to do. It is something that I am passionate about: making children happy and creating great life experiences. I would love to see a cure for difficult childhood diseases.
