Meet Katya and Rob Siegel!

Hello everyone!

Rob and Katya Siegel We will be participating in The Flaming June Half Marathon taking place on Sunday 7th June in Cambridge, England. We will be running in support of Jill Just Wants 2 Help (JJW2H), a great cause that holds a special place close to our hearts! JJW2H was created by the Siegel Family in memory of Jillian Siegel, who lost her battle with acute myeloid leukemia at the age of 20. Established in 2009, the organization's mission is to raise money for a dedicated endowment fund at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, with the goal of building a home that will provide shelter and support to families whose children are receiving care at the hospital. JJW2H celebrates Jill's extraordinary spirit and lifelong devotion to making a difference.

Dressing up in costume for a race has become somewhat of a tradition in Britain…Hence, we decided to tackle our race as superheroes in an effort to raise as much as possible for a charity that means so much to us and our families. Jill exemplified courage each day that she was sick and will be remembered by those who knew her as the real hero.

Please wish us luck in this half marathon and we sincerely appreciate your support!

Love,
Katya and Rob

A Thank You Message from Katya and Rob

Dear Friends,

Rob and Katya SiegelWe would like to thank you again for your kind and generous donation to Jill Just Wants 2 Help (JJW2H) on behalf of our running of the Flaming June Half Marathon in Cambridge, England on June 7th. As you know, this non-profit organization is near and dear to our hearts and contributes to such a worthy cause. Jillian was a beautiful girl who touched the lives of many before she was lost to leukemia at the young age of twenty. By contributing, you are helping to provide assistance to families with children and young adults undergoing cancer treatment.

Rob and Katya SiegelThe race was a lot of “fun” and we managed to finish in a little over two hours. We are certain that Jillian was watching over us because why else would it have been such a beautiful day with warm sunshine. Such weather is normally welcomed in England unless of course one is wearing a polyester superhero costume and running thirteen miles. Nevertheless, the superheroes prevailed with limited complaining and a great many laughs and support from the race spectators. With your help we raised over nine thousand dollars for JJW2H!!

Thank you so much and we hope to see you all very soon!

Love,
Katya and Rob

8th Annual Drives for Lives Golf Outing - October 10th, 2011

It was an unusually beautiful October day as the sun shone on the greens of Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill. The 8th Annual Drives for Lives Golf Outing, hosted by Drives for Lives and Jill Just Wants 2 Help, along with Lucky Dog Saloon & Grille Outings Inc., was attended by 127 golfers who enjoyed a day of golf, free clinics at Brian Quinn's Golf Academy at Tee's Golf Center cocktails, dinner, and a silent auction featuring such items as VIP tickets to the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, a weeklong vacation in Hawaii, a diamond ring donated by Bucci Jewelers, a plasma TV provided by World Wide Stereo, and a "Legends of Philly" baseball hat signed by 20 Phillies. The highlight of the auction saw two donors contribute $1,000 each to name a sandwich on the Lucky Dog menu. We are extremely grateful to our event sponsors Pediatric Dental Associates, Physicians National Bank and Special Smiles, and to all who attended. The 8th Annual Drives for Lives Golf Outing raised over $100,000 for Jill Just Wants 2 Help. We know that Jill would have been very proud to see such incredible support!
