It was an unusually beautiful October day as the sun shone on the greens of Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill. The 8th Annual Drives for Lives Golf Outing, hosted by Drives for Lives and Jill Just Wants 2 Help, along with Lucky Dog Saloon & Grille Outings Inc., was attended by 127 golfers who enjoyed a day of golf, free clinics at Brian Quinn's Golf Academy at Tee's Golf Center cocktails, dinner, and a silent auction featuring such items as VIP tickets to the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, a weeklong vacation in Hawaii, a diamond ring donated by Bucci Jewelers, a plasma TV provided by World Wide Stereo, and a "Legends of Philly" baseball hat signed by 20 Phillies. The highlight of the auction saw two donors contribute $1,000 each to name a sandwich on the Lucky Dog menu. We are extremely grateful to our event sponsors Pediatric Dental Associates, Physicians National Bank and Special Smiles, and to all who attended. The 8th Annual Drives for Lives Golf Outing raised over $100,000 for Jill Just Wants 2 Help. We know that Jill would have been very proud to see such incredible support!
For the second consecutive year, the employees of Pediatric Dental Associates designated Jill Just Wants 2 Help as the beneficiary of their annual holiday fundraising drive. "Many of our employees knew Jill," they wrote, "and we hope that our contributions allow other families to know that her spirit of generosity continues in us all." In 2010, employees across the five offices of Pediatric Dental Associates in Philadelphia, Fort Washington and Southampton contributed $1,300 to Jill Just Wants 2 Help.
Martinis & Motown featured a fabulous evening of cocktails, dinner, and live entertainment to benefit Jill Just Wants 2 Help. The event was hosted by From the Heart, a group of philanthropic women who select one organization each year as the recipient of their annual fundraising initiative. Serving as honorary co-chairs of the 2010 event, held at Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill, were Jillian Siegel's parents, Phil and Nancy Siegel, and her brothers, Andrew and Rob. Martinis & Motown raised nearly $200,000 for Jill Just Wants 2 Help.
In 2010, the 7th Annual Drives Fore Lives, benefitting Alex's Lemonade Stand, was held in conjunction with Jill Just Wants 2 Help. The event was held at Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill, and presented in coordination with The Lucky Dog Saloon and Grille and Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.
